I love illuminated manuscripts. I think they are always welcome. (Early Islamic and Hebraic manuscripts,and Egyptian papyrus is gorgeous too.) Lastly, Viking and early Anglo Saxon artifacts: jewelry, weaponry, household items, etc.

I’m glad! Two semesters ago I took an art history class on illuminated mss, so I’m sure I could pull some posts from my notes. I’m not too familiar with Islamic/Hebraic mss, but I do agree that they are really gorgeous- I’ll save this idea for a future theme. And I love Anglo-Saxon art! I’ve posted a bit here already, but I could post that ad infinitum as well. Again, I’m not too familiar with Scandinavian art and culture, but it’s definitely something I’d be interested to learn more about. Thank you for all the suggestions!
